The Windom neighborhood is located in the Southwest Community of Minneapolis. Its borders are Diamond Lake Road, West 54th Street, Interstate 35W, West 62nd Street (Highway 62), Lyndale Avenue South and Highway 121. The southern portion of the neighborhood houses a sizeable industrial area, but the rest of the community is residential with a sprinkling of businesses. Windom South Community Center is located in the building of Windom Open Elementary School, a magnet school in south Minneapolis.
