Summit Hill is centrally located within St. Paul. Summit Avenue is its northern border, Ayd Mill Road to the west, and Interstate 35-E forms both the southern and eastern borders. The Summit Hill neighborhood was originally conceived as a Gilded Age showcase street, and is ruled with the mansions named after prominent St. Paul figures. With views of downtown and the Mississippi River, Summit Avenue is thought to be one of the longest stretches of preserved Victorian mansions in North America.
