The Shingle Creek neighborhood is located on the northwest city limits of Minneapolis within the Camden Community. It is bordered on the north by 53rd Avenue North, on the east by Humboldt Avenue North, on the south by 49th Avenue North and on the west by Xerxes Avenue North. Like other Minneapolis neighborhoods, Shingle Creek has an action group that works with other local organizations to refurbish and renovate older homes, with the goal to create more affordable housing. A homebuyer's assistance program has also been created to attract first-time home-buyers. The Shingle Creek Neighborhood Association is also committed to protecting natural environments, like the area’s namesake, and developing youth-oriented programs.
