Merriam Park - Lexington - Hamline is a St. Paul neighborhood located in the west central section of the city. It is bordered on the north by University Avenue and Interstate 94, the Mississippi River to the west, historic Summit Avenue to the south and Lexington Parkway to the east. Merriam Park - Lexington - Hamline also includes the Lexington-Hamline and Town and Country communities. St. Paul’s Union Park, also known as Merriam Park, features commercial strips on Selby, Snelling, University, Cretin and Cleveland avenues. Concordia University and part of University of St. Thomas are here. Union Park features coffee shops, bakeries, ethnic restaurants, specialty stores, the Merriam Park Community Center and Merriam Park Library. The neighborhood also includes the University of St. Thomas and Concordia College, in addition to Central High School. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area are easily accessed at the neighborhood's western border.
