The Hamline-Midway neighborhood is bordered by Pierce Butler Route on the north, Cleveland Avenue to the west, University Avenue to the south and Lexington Parkway to the east. University Avenue has large grocers and department stores, while Snelling offers small shops and superior ethnic restaurants. Midway includes the Twin Cities only passenger rail terminal. Most shopping and dining options are within biking and walking distance of residences. There are also a number of local parks. Hamline-Midway offers a variety of public and private schools in addition to the university. Hamline-Midway is also home to the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, which beyond hosting the Great Minnesota Get-Together is also a venue that accommodates car shows, horse shows, antique sales, and technology fairs.
